i think the bungees would not be stiff enough. i decided carbon fibre was the way to go. stiff like wood, much lighter than wood, and damps a lot better than aluminum/magnesium. still not perfect, but better. doing the lower section would damp only the highest harmonics and they usually aren't the problem.
