Hi William. I am sorry :-( But still, try to contact some good repairman (vis the list of Pentax repairs reviewed by PDML members, link is somewhere on www.mycroft.de), perhaps it will be some easier repair. I am not sure about the fault myself. It still could be something else. The K2 are mostly very modular and welldesigned cameras, so repairing them is much easier than for example an LX.
