I'd challenge that. I'd say that no theme is not accessible to anyone that
wants to submit. A person that has a 50mm lens is able to submit to both
the wide and telephoto galleries with a bit of creative thinking. As long
as the person submitting the image has justified to themselves that the
image should be included is enough as far as I'm concerned (and as long as
the image is within the guidelines of the PUG) .
I may just try to do an image with a 300mm lens and get it into the "a wide
angle view" gallery. That is a challenge that is going to be hard to
resist. If I had a 14 or 15mm fisheye, I'd consider getting an image that
would fit into the "short telephoto" gallery. I think I could justify
inclusion without too much trouble.
I have seen some good interpretations of themes so far, where the person
submitting had different ideas to most. Valentin's photo of a syringe
needle and droplet of water in the waterscapes gallery is a prime example.
The last gallery had an image that I couldn't figure out how it fitted into
the theme, but I didn't see anyone saying it shouldn't have been included.
The PUG is a good thing [tm].
