I don't think your figures stack up.

If 60-70% of sales are outside Japan, then AT LEAST 30% are INSIDE Japan. Since you say that both Europe and America beat Japan, then if on average they have 32% each, that leaves only 8% for the rest of the world, which I think is unlikely.

But whether that's true or not, these figures show that Japan is very close to both North Amnerica and Europe in sales, and is almost certainly therefore the number one COUNTRY in the world for Pentax camera sales (North America includes Canada, don't forget).

So what happens in Japan is definitely very significant. By your own figures, it's a third of the world market.

So which countries are bigger? Bear in mind I said "country", and I was referring to the market for DSLRs. The EU, for instance, is not a country.
