a single capture is always more efficient. that's when more megapixels come in, if you are printing large.

these days I shoot a lot of shot intended for large prints - 20 x 30 inches minimum. Maybe I'm lazy, but I'd rather take one MF shot than try to stitch together a bunch of digital shots. I plan to move up to LF to get better results. Light changes from second to second, at least around here, so I can't see how one can make the stitching work reliably.
