If Pentax's marketing department is to be relied upon, neither avenue will generate appreciable revenue.

Isn't it interesting that some of the most vocal members of this list
want either
A) To be able to use the oldest K-mount lenses on DSLR's
or
B) To be able to use new lenses with hypersonic/electronic focusing
and/or image stabilization

Considering which avenue is likely to generate more revenue for Pentax
may give a hint at to which is more likely to be pursued, though I'll
leave that as an exercise to the reader.
