Hi:
I use the FA* 300/4.5 with the Bogen/Manfrotto long lens
mount. It's an OK combination, if a little slower to get mounted up than
something more direct. I use it with a PZ-20 and an LX. No trouble with
either.
One other drawback besides speed, though, is that the B/M
mount doesn't work well at all for vertical orientation.
Unlike another poster, I find the lens crisp and sharp with no
vignetting at any aperture.
The lens is clearly designed to be hand held. I often use it
hand held for studio portraits with strobes. If you contemplate using it on a
tripod, you might consider the F* 300 or the FA* 400/5.6.
