I'm of two minds about the car, and I really don't know whether I
prefer it there or not.

I do like the feeling of traffic and hustle and bustle that it
implies.  OTOH, it's hiding the streetcar track, and since we're
waiting for a streetcar, it might give more of a "streetcar stop"
atmosphere.
