To hit a price point with a lens design Pentax would never work on
themselves.  I mean, some of the real Pentax lenses are nothing to scream
about either (eg. the FA 100-300 4.5-5.6), so it's not like they are soiling
an otherwise pristine line.  Like every brand, Pentax has some great lenses
and some true howlers.

I'd like to see the sales figures, but I would bet they sell more of those
28-200 zooms than any other five lenses in the lineup.  Maybe more than all
the other lenses combined.  They're a steal for the casual shooter.
