Hi Don,
I have one of those, and us it for various purposes. I bought it as
support for my 645-A*300/4, and I also find it indispensible for
extreme macro shots (>1x).
It is a vast improvement from attaching the camera body to the tripod.
I really wish a similar gadget could be had for the Arca-Swiss QR
system, though.
