Another month and more fine images. I have come to enjoy perusing
the PUG as it comes out and then again to look at my assignment. To wit -
"Players" Collin Brendemuehl, USA
I enjoy the layout of the image. It lends itself as a story you create as
you look at it. Is it awaiting for the usual players? Are the players
going to show up? Will the pieces themselves begin a game? The graininess
adds to the photo. I like the fact that the candles are not the same size,
it does not look like a planned shot. I would have liked to see wax
drippings on the holders, this would lend itself to the thought of waiting,
waiting, waiting for the game to start. I like the lack of symmetry. The
fact that the holder on the left has lost some details is not disturbing.
The image stands on its own. Lovely photo!

Beautiful exposure. I like the way the wheel stands out from the dark
background. A friend of mine was looking over my shoulder as I was scanning
the PUG at home. She commented that it looked like the type of shot I would
take. There are many scenes that people overlook as they walk about. This
shot is great in that the whole wheel is not visible. People always look at
the wheel from afar, but how many notice it up close? I think I enjoy it on
another level in that it was taken with a Spotmatic. Makes me want to take
mine out to shoot. Many would comment on the cropping, I like it the way it
is. A lovely image!

Great shot. A great use of the theme. The image concept alone is great and
the composition is nice. Some may be picky and take a little off from the
bottom, but it is fine to me the way it is. The only distracting element is
the brightness showing through the shirt. It is hard to plan for that, but
it does not make for a bad image. I do like the fact that you included
yourself in the image. I wonder if you planned it, but the muted colors of
your clothing go well with the picture. The lighting beyond the trees give
good balance to the sky. The overall coloring is great. Fantastic image!
