The focussing smoothness and freedom from backlash
( hope you know what that means ) of the Pentax
lenses got worse as they went from SMCT to K to
M to A ( especially from M to A ), and then of course
Got much worse on the AF lenses by design but that
Was OK as a tradeoff if you really needed or wanted
AF. But if you don't need or want AF all the lenses
After SMCT just got worse with regards to the focussing
Action. The SMCTs are still top of he heap. I am NOT
Reffering to optical properties here, I am referring
To the manual focus mechanism smoothness ( mechanical refinement ).

Please explain what you mean by that. I've used ST, SMCT, K, M, A, and
FA
lenses, and while the focus feel may be different, they all manually
focus
quite well and with equal accuracy. Some may even say the later lenses,
with greater contrast than older lenses, focus better.
