I've been informed that it's slightly acidic & it "eats" into aluminium (?) For this reason (and maybe others) it's not approved for use in aircraft maintenance. On the other hand it works really well as a lubricant when drilling/turning aluminium (At low speeds. It smells pretty bad when it burns :-).
