Maybe let's imagine the following situation: You have lots of pics to take and you can't take the time to change cards otherwise you might lose a couple important shots.
I can imagine a fast enough wifi sd card (eye-fi seems slow unfortunately) so all pics would be uploaded into my laptop in my backpack (which is closed but not in standby mode). It'd give me well the size of the harddisk for storage.
