Needed to know exact id for stock. then I'd write the full latin name on the bottom of the polaroid and take it home. I didn't use it extensively, too expensive, but it saved a lot of time ultimately.
OF course, it sometimes had the effect of assuring that the shots I got of the flowers I knew were not good enough.
