I have the Epson C80 - pigment inks for long-lasting prints but you have to the right
paper. Most matte papers work well, Ilford's Classic Pearl works well but will need a
printer profile, Epson's PGPP works well and their Professional Glossy Paper works
even better but has to be cut to size.

There was a $30 rebate which may still be in effect - you can check at their website.

I am very pleased with the printer.

| I've found that regardless of the printer one color always runs out well
| before the others. So I'm in the market for one with individual cartridges.
| So far I've only seen Canon's starting with the 8200 and later. Didn't know
| about the Epson C80.

|
| Two things. I find that the amount of ink left in the different colors in an
| ink cartridge to be about equal when the printer indicates the cart. is
| empty. I dissected a couple of used 870 carts and decided not to worry
| anymore. I find I get my best B&W prints on the matte papers. I don't know
| why but they seem to show the color cast less and be easier to get to a
| neutral tone.
