Dave,

My eye at the modern viewfinder screen could not
detect that the photo was OOF; it only became apparent
on a computer screen or when I zoomed in while
chimping. It wasn't apparent very often during my
ordinary photography, either, because I don't shoot
very much close-up, wide-open or macro.

When the question was raised in response to a PESO I
posted a few weeks ago, though, I set up a test using
a target against an oblique patterned background.
Yup, the camera was backfocusing. So, I set out to
fix it.

I took the day off today and spend the morning doing
some macro shooting. What a difference to have the AF
working accurately!
