I think you'll find that they are licensing designs to Samsung and Kodak (and perhaps others) for 35mm and digital formats that they themselves are not pursuing in the marketplace. Last I heard, they were still very much in the business of making large format optics, optics for Rollei digital medium format (gawd are they nice or what?) and industrial lenses. There is a lot more to the lensmaking industry than the toy formats that we play with.
