Jerome FWIW, I'm now using a Gitzo 1548 CF tripod & the Kirk King Cobra gimbal head. I have no issues with the package other than the total weight of the system. I initially had an old Gitzo 1410 that also worked well with the setup. Igot the 1548 to reduce some of the weight I had to lug around.
