..and could help prevent occasional "weirdness"!  I had an issue this  
past weekend where the lens would pop into focus, but the camera would  
never get the confirmation and would refuse to fire.

I took off the 16-50 and wiped just the power contacts (what was I  
thinking??) with no change in behavior.

Finally my addled brain remembered that there are numerous contacts on  
the lens beyond the simple power contacts.  Scrubbed 'em down with a  
corner of the t-shirt (on the camera and on the lens) and all was well  
again.

But it was a heart-stopping moment when I wondered if my 16-50 had  
just started to be faulty!
