When I was selling cameras in the mid 1980's, the FG and FG-20 were current models. They had the worst reliability of any camera I had seen. It was not unusual to have them bad out of the box. I decided the FG stood for F#cking Garbage. Apparently, the shutter button is connected to the control circuitry by a flexible printed circuit board that goes over the prism. The board has a tendency to crack at the bends. The cure is to run ribbon cable in place of the board. William Robb - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
