I bet the problem is you are dealing with a 16mm lens on a camera
With a 45.5mm registration designed for full frame (longer) lenses
AND you are talking a FAST lens AND you are talking a ZOOM lens.
This lens is just trying to do too much, or another way of looking
At it is the optical design team HAD to compromise something, and some
distortion
Was the compromise, rather than larger size, higher cost, slower speed,
etc.
