Do you have a favorite film for Xtol?

Yes, several. From my processing notes:

Agfapan APX25 @ EI 50
Delta 100 @ EI 200

My standard development is XTOL 1:1, room temperature (usually 72-74 degrees). Take whatever the data sheet recommendation is, add 10-15% time, agitate very gently 30 seconds at start, then extremely gently 5 seconds every two minutes.

TMax 100 @ EI 200
TMax 400 @ EI 800

Same on temperature and time, but agitate vigorously for 15 seconds at start and gently at 30 second intervals. (TMax was formulated for machine processing and needs a lot of chemistry movement to produce fully developed negatives.)

This schema is intended to produce excellent negatives for scanning.
For wet lab printing, you want a little higher dmax and contrast so adjust processing accordingly.
