Thanks, Tom.  Ed also suggested something similar.  Since it's a cheap
and readily available solution, I'll try that first.  The technique
should at least indicate if there's a need to go further.  Of course, if
there's a problem with the lens, which may give an unsharp image on one
side or another, you'd never know if it was the alignment or the lens
that was causing the problem.
