The main problem with the SR is the camera identifying later lenses automatically. The DA*300/4 for example fitted with a 1.5x TC (450mm) is seen only as 300mm with no option to override the setting manually. Therefore you have 450mm with shake reduction set for 300mm, 50% out and it's a PITA. I've winged about it before at length so I won't bore you all anymore with it.
