I'm sorry to hear that.  My older combination of A300/4 and AF1.7X
lets me set a 500mm lens length for shake reduction on the K20D.  And
it does make a difference.  If you want to see some sorry pictures,
try switching from the A20/2.8 and a 20mm shake reduction setting to
the A300 without resetting the 20mm.  The bird pictures had an odd
unsharpness and blur I couldn't fathom, then I looked at the EXLF
data.  No, I didn't shoot these with the 20mm!  Who says shake
reduction doesn't work.
