I have a youngish friend, very into the creative end of photography, (in camera creativity), who shoots b&w film. He doesn't even know the difference between TXP and BW400, but then he has his film processed by third parties. I don't think he's interested in shooting digital.

Unbelieveable. What does it matter what a camera looks like? I like the
"manual film" quote...It's not too often you hear stories of
people talking down Leicas. What a maroon.

It's funny, but I get the same looks and type of questions about the 67
every once in a while. It's interesting how incredulous some are that
people still shoot film.

It is. I gave up trying to explain why I was using an LX and normally say I
can't afford digital; it saves a lot of hassle explaining.

I'm most surprised the shop assistant didn't note Bob's camera and guide him
towards more expensive footwear!

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or
drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn
fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a
free man any more than a dog.
