Well, I was never able to use the 5 fps on the Pentax LX, so while 8fps is a selling point, I'm not sure what it's really worth, unless you work for /Sports/ /Illustrated/, and then I expect the magazine would be supplying a 1D something or other. It looks more like Canon has repealed the laws of economics...
One thing I noticed right away when I switched over to the K-7 was how fast the mirror returns. The unheralded advantage of a fast frame rate is a fast viewfinder.
