Simple answer: lithiums. They're all but necessary in most cameras using
AA-size batteries.
But these are disposables...a step back IMHO.
Quite honestly, we are all kinda pissing in the wind here. We don't really
know what the power requirments are out of the new camera, though it is
fairly safe to assume that they are fairly high. What we do know is that
previous Pentaxes have had problems with NiMH batteries, and the cure has
been to go to Lithiums.
We also know that in North America, Pentax is packing Lithiums into the
camera.
We also know that the K-x doesn't seem to do well on NiMH batteries.
The logical conclusion is that the camera needs something that it isn't
getting from NiMH batteries, and that Pentax knows this.
Perhaps the step forwards is a better NiMH battery.
