I'm really surprised at the way some people have reacted to the picture that
Frank posted. A couple of well-meaning people demonstrating against the fur
trade. No evidence that they were wearing leather, or members of PETA, or
even vegetarians, yet the picture seems to have stimulated a lot of vitriol
in some people.

I wasn't reacting to the photo. I'm OK with the photo.

I'm even OK with the photo if the two ladies were wearing leather boots. I agree with Frank's point about wearing his existing leather shoes after becoming vegan. Nothing that can be done for the cow at that point.

OTOH -

The thread drifted off into a discussion of the organization PETA, and I think the obvious hypocrisy they've shown in their actions both before and after the court case referenced is a valid point for criticism. Quite simply, their actions are unethical and inexcusable by any standard.

All Animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
