Well, some lighter would help ;-). Seriously though, when I did the camera-store-try on the K7, it felt good to hold and had a nice feel. I do understand the point about weight/steadier grip/with longer lenses--and agree, but lately the kit feels so heavy--course so does by body. Maybe I'm just so out of shape, and I'm probably not shooting enough--actually, I just checked Lightroom; I shot 5887 frames so far for 2009. I suppose by PDML standards that's pretty wimpy, but certainly not out of character for the wimp I am :-). Cheers, Christine

I don't know what the exact numbers are, but the K7 isn't a lot lighter than the K20. Somewhat smaller, but it's packed and well built, so it's rather hefty. I prefer a heavier camera. It makes for a steadier grip and balances substantial lenses better. The DA* 60-250 and the K7 with battery pack are a perfect match.

I thought the same with my K20 & then I touched the K7 & heard the
shutter--ahhh, that was lovely to the ears. I do want the K7, so I'm *sort of* saving for it--but mainly for the weight--I'm so tired of the weight--my own--and camera gear weight; these days I'm traveling really light, and it's still heavy. I guess I'm a wimp. A few nights ago I dreamt of my old MX, and I moved around free and easy in that dream. :-) Cheers, Christine

I thought the same w/ my K200D. Then I had to touch a K7 & listen to
it's shutter sound. What to do with a K200D + grip? :\

Well, it's summer doldrums down here but I get your point....

I think that DSLR development has reached the point where incremental
gains in performance are relatively small, so upgrading becomes a matter
of trying to justify the expense when the current camera is 'good
enough'.

I my case, the K200D does pretty much everything I want, so I probably
wont upgrade until a camera comes along with similar features but with a
better high ISO performance and a sensor with a few more MP of
resolution. (Oh, wait. Isn't that the K-x?....)
