I don't get this reasoning. They've already done all the R&D on full frame lenses (they are called FAs). They don't have to do it again. It can't be terribly difficult to pull out the plans and build more of them. This would be a way of Pentax leveraging their (very smart) decision to keep the k-mount compatible and reintroduce the FAs for a FF camera.
