I saw a thing recently about the making of that Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food. It's American Cheese, dyed from the original off-white to the orangey color, and it has stuff mixed in to it, like lard or butter fat or something, to make it melt better (more attractively and consistently) than natural American cheese does.
