Thanks, Paul. Probably good advice about the low-end printer. I thought I'd just throw that out there to see what folks thought. Yep, I bought the Epson R2880 and it's great, and I've been using it a lot. I've got a little bit of exhibit space at work for the construction photos--about four 13 x 19 inch frames and about nine 8 1/2 x 11 inch frames plus I do some digital GESOs for folks at work as well. I also just did about 15 prints for some conference rooms at work. Management wanted to jazz some walls up because of a big-to-do we're having at work in about two weeks, so they asked me if I had any stuff depicting * the goings on at work* and luckily I did.

Good to know about the Epson Exhibition Fibre--I like the idea of it having a bit more texture than the Gold Fibre Silk has. That sounds pretty cool. I'll try it for sure now. I love the Velvet Fine Art for black and white & the Gold Fiber Silk for Color--though I reverse it as well.

Big thanks and cheers, Christine

A good list.
The more hard drive space you can afford, the better. I now have nine drives and about 4 terabytes of space -- and Im running out. I'm going to park some full drives and plug in a few new ones.

Don't think you'll need a monitor shade unless you work in a room where you can't control the light levels.

You should be able to get buy with one high quality printer. Didn't you buy a top of the line Epson 13 x 19? That should be adequate if you don't want to print bigger than that carriage allows. You shouldn't need another printer for 4x6 proofs. Just gang them on one sheet of 13 x 19 paper and cut them apart. You can print at a lesser quality if you wish, although I always print photos at a relatively high quality setting.

I like Ilford Gold Fibre Silk and Epson Velvet Fine art. I've also been using Epson Exhibition Fibre quite a bit. Atlex.com has it at very good prices, and it's very similar to Gold Fibre Silk -- just slightly heavier stock and a bit more texture.

I desperately have to get my digital darkroom organized, so I made a quick list of stuff. Can you guys think of anything that I might be overlooking? Obviously, some of this stuff I have, some of it will have to wait, but I thought I'd get a dream list going. If anyone has any suggestions for media storage, print storage, contact sheet storage, I'd love to know what you guys do. Also, anything with an (*) means I'm open to suggestions for specific brands.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Anybody got a catcher's mit on? :-) Big cheers, Christine
