NHTSA & Toyota have investigated both the Prius incident in San Diego & the
one in upstate New York. In the San Diego incident, they both found no
reason why the vehicle could not be brought under control - there was nothng
wrong with it. In the N.Y. Prius incident they both found pedal
misapplication - the driver had her foot on the accelerator (wide open
throttle) and never touched the brake.
