I have no problem with the Samsung sensor in the K7. The rendering is

control of the K7 is the best of any camera by far.

The tradeoff in low-ISO detail has everything to do with that extra
2.5MP and nothing to do with high ISO capabilities, it's just enough
to make the small visible difference we're seeing and resolution
testing backs it up (the K-x has excellent resolution for a 12MP
camera). The 14.6MP Sony sensor resolves similarly to the Samsung part
(when comparing the A550 to the K-7) while still delivering much
better high ISO performance. I expect it will be the 14.6MP Sony
sensor, not the K-x's 12MP sensor, in the K-7 update.
Samsung is still on the learning curve with their sensors, I expect the
next generation will be better. I'm agnostic on the matter I don't care
if the new sensor is from Samsung, Sony, or Kodak. All I care about is
that my investment in lenses stays viable. So I guess that I want
Pentax to pick the best possible for their future survival.
