Wondering how many of you folks use protective

I did for many years, but haven't now for some time.
Flare, nuisance and glass quality questions combined to end
their use.
On the Leica M8 I have no real choice but to use the IR cut filters because
of the celebrated cock-up with the sensor.

I have however always used UV or clear filters to protect the lenses from
grit and such like. I find myself reluctant to remove the filters. In bad
weather filters cause condensation in the gap between them and the lens, so
I take the filter off in that case.

As someone once put it, it's like using a condom. Do you use them?
Now, mess with that line.
My SAS survival guide tells me I should carry a condom at all times. I've
had the same one in my wallet since 1973.
I think it might be time to refit.
