No Dave, mine is the same!  A bit of sticky tape does the job in stopping it
from falling off.
Great lens otherwise - when travelling in Egypt, I used it for over 70% of
my shots.

The 16-45 is my favorite lens, and it takes about 90% of my shots.

The only problem that I have is that the lens hood retaining tabs have worn
down enough that the hood will fall off if bumped.  It's the only lens where
this has happened though, so it may just be a fluke with mine.
