Can anyone tell for certain if Hoya is keeping Pentax's medical division for
themselves? I'm pretty sure that's a big source of Pentax's revenue, and it
would really suck if they lost it.

Hoya is almost certainly keeping the medical division. They originally bought Pentax to get the medical division.

If you go back to the period before the Hoya-Pentax deal was finalized, you'll find one of the fears of Pentax users had back then was that Hoya would keep Pentax for a couple of years and then dispose of the camera company.

And that the Pentax camera division would be weaker because of the loss of revenue from the medical division.

Maybe the 645D will put the camera division in better position than was feared ... or maybe not.

Deja Vu all over again.
