It's not about NTSC (29.97 fps) vs PAL (25 fps) as most televisions
are digital now and can probably handle either one. The 24 fps frame
rate of traditional film has a distinctly different "look" to it. I've
noticed a lot of complaining amongst amateur filmmakers about DSLRs
that don't shoot 24 fps. (I think the camera makers just assumed
originally that 24 saw slower and therefore "worse" and didn't think
anyone would miss it.)
