For me, the K-01 is a Good-News-Maybe-Bad-News story. With several aspects to
which I am indifferent.

Good news: it is clearly a variation on the K-5, intended for a different
audience or as a 2nd body for K-5 users. That is a good thing because it means
that there is likely a K-5 follow-on DSLR. Those of us who don't like the
notion of focusing via LCD or EVF can breath a sigh of relief for now.
Good news: K-mount.

Maybe Bad News: K-Mount. I think I would have preferred a new mount with an
AF-capable K-Mount adapter. I have a PEN E-PL2 which I got specifically
because, like all (?) μ 4/3 mounts it has a variety of adapters available that
let me use Leica-M and Nikon (and Pentax M42 and K-mount) lenses. Pentax needs
a mount with a shorter registration before it can accommodate much of a range
of lenses.

Matters of indifference: 1. Appearance: if it is ugly and/or funny looking, it
might even be helpful in distracting a hostile photo-subject. I think the lens
is ugly and am curious to see what the body looks like with a more-normal
appearing lens. 2. Size: I don't really care if it fits in my pocket. I have
never taken any pictures with a camera in my pocket - I find it much better to
have the camera in hand without all of the clothing in the way.
