as further proof, when pentax went k mount in 1975, the vast
majority of the initial k mount lenses were just remounts of
smc takumar designs. Not so with the 20mm, its a new better
design than the smct 20mm f4.5.

nope, its just a very early very wide very bad design
by pentax standards. I've owned many ( I buy and sell )
and they were all the same in that regard.
