I'll keep that in mind if I should decide to take up the task one day. But, based on what I've read so far, I should probably leave things well enough alone until the day I'm swimming in A 50/1.7's and don't mind losing one or two.

industrial supply and buy a bunch.

They are also steel, so I always kept a magnet
near the lens.  It proved helpful quite often.
