If this is a bucket list quest and virtually the entire point is that is to be a photographic journey, then I certainly wouldn't skimp on the lenses I'm taking.
Instead I would be tempted to take very few clothes and make my first stop a thrift shop when I hit my destination where I would purchase clothes for the stay. Next stop a laundromat.
