Thanks, everyone for the feedback. I thought about ordering via Amazon as I still have some credit there from a gift card last Christmas. I got as far as checkout only to be told "we can't ship this product to your default destination". Bummer.

Oh, well - there are other alternatives.

Cheers

Quoting Igor Roshchin <s...@komkon.org>:

I bought the one by Zekos which is labeled to have much higher capacity
(2800 mAh) than the OEM from Pentax:

http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-LI90-Lithium-Battery-Replaces/dp/B002ZRPWPY/

It had been sold only by Buydig and Amazon, and doesn't seem to be
available anymore.
All other 3rd-party batteries that I've seen do not have this high
capacity. To be fair, - I haven't yet tried to measure/compare its true
capacity. I haven't had any problem over 1 year period since I bought
it. (I paid ~$17 for it.)

The battery that Buydig sells now is rated at 2100 mAh, and costs $14.50:

The original Pentax battery is rated at 1860 mAh and costs $40-45.

Is anyone using third party batteries in their K-7/K-5? The prices are
"considerably* lower than the Pentax branded ones but I don't want to
blow up my new camera.
