Being the Taoist that I am.... balance is very important. That's the one thing I noticed about the MZ-5N. I disliked the fact that when I put an old screw mount onto that body (a 135mm 2.5), it felt, well, weird. Off balance, like it was too top heavy.
Sure it was fine with the standard 28-80 3.5-5.6 silver FA lens but not with the "old skool" stylings of a classic 80-200 M lens. The K1000 (or the old SL for that matter) seemed more appropriate. Even when the newer 28-80 FA lens was mounted onto the K1000, it still felt good... because the main weight of the camera was firmly held at it's base (i.e. the body). It felt even better once the 135mm was put onto it. So yes, I have noted the effect that balance has and yes, you are the only one really "excited" about it... now go on and get out of that jello tree.
