San Francisco recently passed a law that prohibits nudity in the city (this was approved by voters). I think it was appropriate (I forget where I read this or when, but googling should turn it up -- probably last November).
Encouraging alternative life styles is one thing, but when children are going to be around, tourists, etc., well, there is no reason to be blatantly offensive. So SF has clean up its act. If you go to the tourist areas, or the business areas, of the city, you will not see the kind of display that you witnessed. Like many of our cities, and many European cities, like Copenhagen or Amsterdam, there are areas where alternative life styles are not only tolerated, but actually encouraged. If one doesn't want to see nudity, pot, or other sights that distress or offend you, one avoids those areas. There are plenty of places in the US where pervasive wholesomeness is almost overwhelming. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
