i think the perfect archiving system is a radio signal broadcast to the heavens; right now someone is receiving the original broadcast of Merv Griffin's first show!
if the beings nearby don't receive it, there are always farther stars; and eventually we may be able to outrun our own signals, capture them, and bring them back
