Hi Everyone:
I saw this new tripod on amazon: especially made for travel and mobility.
If you click to the images page, there's a video showing the tripod "in
action." Any thoughts?
It's amazingly compact and can sustain up to 8.5 pounds.

Would be interested in any thoughts.
yes it is compact but it seems a little heavy (5.3 lbs) for the price and for
how light-duty it is
Amazon reviews say the head is removable: good
best feature is how compact it is, but that can work against you - low working
height and less stability
as a quick comparison i found the Induro AKB1 which is 3.6 lbs, probably more
stable, plus cheaper, taller and with an Arca-compatible head; biggest drawback
is 26" closed length

look around, Induro or another brand probably has a model very comparable to
the Manfrotto at a lower price, or something as compact but better built for
the same price; i have been shopping for a carbon-fiber tripod, slightly
heavier duty, and Induro is a candidate brand; the tripod selection process is
an exercise in multivariate compromise
