You cock the shutter to open it, then you set the shutter speed
dial to the "O" position. The shutter is now open and
inoperative Unfortunately, it is also cocked.
They also took the cable release and the multiple exposure lever
off the lens, as compared to the 90mm leaf, which I also own.
However, the 165 is one heck of a nice lens, even with the sucky
A series cosmetics.
